Original sumi ink painting (not a print) of a red-crested crane titled: “A Crane Calls From a Pond”
The focus of this painting is the red-crested crane, which is one of the rarest birds in China. It is a symbol for longevity and good fortune. Thus it is common in China to give a gift of a crane painting in order to extend your good wishes for health and blessing to others.
Whether you want to add a touch of Asian beauty to your home or extend a meaningful good wish in the form of a memorable gift, this lovely Chinese scroll painting is an excellent choice.
Our sumi-e crane art is hand painted on a lovely scroll available in many different colors of silk edging. The crane lifts its head and calls from the gentle waters. Who is it calling to and what is it saying?
A famous Chinese idiom saying “He Ming Jiu Gao” is written in Chinese brush calligraphy on the painting. While the literal meaning is “A cry of a crane is heard from the lake,” it is understood to mean “the smallest hidden voice can have great power.”
Note that this painting is not a print. Sumi-ink watercolor painting style is difficult to master. It requires speed and precision as the rice paper quickly absorbs the water in the ink and strokes once made are permanent. The tip of the brush must be steady and delicate to achieve the perfect result. Luo Wan Er loves helping the images in her mind come to life on the paper. And we are sure you too will appreciate her fine work.
Each scroll is completely hand made and the colored edging features ornate silk and oriental patterns.
Size: 11 X 32 Inches (28 X 81 CM).
You can see the sample image above to choose your favorite silk edging color, which is available in 8 colors. After ordering, Luo Wan Er will paint “A Crane Calls From a Pond” as in the sample image for your custom and hand painted scroll.
